Don’t rely on common symptoms if you think you’re pregnant. You should always follow up with a pregnancy test and ultrasound to confirm.

Read this article for some of the most common symptoms found during early pregnancy.

Acne

Unfortunately, this doesn’t leave permanently after the teenage years. While it can occur during your period, it is also a sign of early pregnancy as a result of fluctuating hormone levels.

Absent period

This symptom is the most tell-tale sign of an early pregnancy. If your period is not on time, it could be late. It’s best if you wait at least one week after the day of your first missed period to take a pregnancy test.

Exhaustion

Although it’s normal to want a nap occasionally, if you are experiencing chronic fatigue with your usual activity levels, this could be a pregnancy symptom.

Light Spotting

Very light bleeding can be a pregnancy indicator. Around 10-14 days after conception, the embryo implants in the uterine wall, causing light spotting.

Mood Swings

If your moods are more random and sporadic, such as sudden anger or fear, or if you’re more sensitive than usual, this could also be a result of fluctuating hormones.

“Morning Sickness” or Nausea

Not every woman will experience this. The level of severity differs with each pregnancy, but nausea is one of the most famous early pregnancy symptoms. If you are nauseous, you could experience this symptom at any time of the day or night.

Frequent Urination

In the early stages of pregnancy, hormonal changes cause more blood to flow through your body, making your kidneys work harder. This change can result in the need to use the restroom more often.

How Do I Know If I’m Pregnant?

A pregnancy test is the quickest way to confirm your pregnancy. You can get an at-home pregnancy test at your local pharmacy, or we offer free, lab-quality pregnancy testing at our center.

Ultrasounds, however, give the most accurate results since sometimes pregnancy tests can be faulty or may give a false negative if you test too early.

We offer no-cost ultrasounds and pregnancy testing at Pregnancy Options Miami. Additionally, we offer no-cost consultations where you can learn more about your pregnancy options in a safe, supportive environment.
